Fulani Herdsmen/Farmers Clash: 120 Lives Lost In 3 LGAs In Adamawa

The administrative panel of inquiry set by the Adamawa state government to inquire into the Kodomun attacks recently in Demsa local government area of Adamawa State revealed that about 120 people lost their lives in this year’s clashes between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers in 3 Local Government Areas of the State.

According to the report, a total of 58 were injured, 5,300 displaced, 517 farms destroyed while properties worth N535.24 million were destroyed and looted by the attackers respectively.

Submitting the report to Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla at the Government House during the week, the Chairman of the Panel, Mr. Joshua Atiku disclosed that the committee has recommended scholarship to all school age children that are now orphans as a result of the crises, payment of compensation and rehabilitation of all destroyed buildings to enable victims comfortably settle down.

Mr. Atiku thanked Governor Jibrilla for deeming them worthy to carry out such an important assignment.

Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla while receiving the report commended the committee for a job well done.

He maintained that no meaningful development will be achieved under chaotic situation.

The Governor therefore charged the people of the State to endeavour to live together in harmony with one another.
