WORLD ANTI CORRUPTION DAY 2016 CELEBRATION

Governor Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla of Adamawa State has charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) to educate the public on how to avoid corruption.
Speaking at this year World Anti Corruption day 22016 celebrations organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) with the theme UNITING AGAINST CORRUPTION FOR DEVELOPMENT, PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT held at the Murtala Nyako hall state secretariat yola, Gov. Jibrilla pointed the need for effective enlightment about corruption.
Represented by the Adamawa State Chief Judge, who was also represented by Justice M.D GOJJI, the Governor Jibrilla congratulated the commission for hosting a successful event.
In his paper presentation, PROF. ADEMU IDAMA of the department of Operations Research and Statistics of the Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola said during the colonial era there was nothing like corruption.
He then called on the masses that are truly against corruption to stand wherever they are and form a network to fight corruption because corruption can only be defeated violently.
Earlier in his welcoming address, the state commissioner of ICPC BELLO IDRIS said the war against corruption should be taken seriously.
He added that as a commission, the strategies and enforcement especially in the areas of system study and review, corruption risk assessment and asset recovery are yielding positive results, as ICPC has recovered 105 vehicles from some officials of the defunct Sure-P and about 40 vehicles from retired Directors of one federal ministry recently.
