"The Preacher, Apostle Suleiman, Was Obviously Angry As His Scathing Rant Showed" - Vincent

Jack Vince Writes:
The cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, shouldn't have talked the way he did, no matter what is responsible for the outburst. This, unfortunately, is usually the case when the heart rules over the head as careless folks fail to discern when emotion wantonly beclouds innate sense of reasoning.

The said 'sermon' which trends on social media is downright inciting to say the least and there's no gainsaying the fact that matters of religion in the Nigerian social milieu are quite sensitive. Also, experience, over the years, has proven that while the laities are mostly gullible and blind followers of charlatans, the exceptionally witty clergies capitalise on the faux pas to become strong influencers of mammoth crowds of followers who are willing to take up arms at the say-so of their lords spiritual. We've seen this played out one time too many.

The preacher, Apostle Suleiman, was obviously angry as his scathing rant showed. The invective purportedly spurred by his anger will never justify making such a call, no matter how pundits see it. He should, however, not be begrudged the right to be angry over what he considers an affront or onslaught on his person, belief, people et cetera. You don't tell a man how to grieve or be angry. A man whose entire village with worship places is torched by marauders has the right to be angry. A man whose people are invaded and massacred has the right to be angry. A man whose infant child, grownup children, brothers, sisters and aged parents are slain in cold blood has the right to be angry. For the umpteenth time, you don't tell a man how to be angry when he knows he's been offended. To call for the killing of innocent people because of such anger is simply in bad taste, inappropriate and not right, at all. In fact, it's like another side of the same coin.

I wonder how powerful Governor Ayo Fayose really is preventing the arrest of Pastor Suleiman like he did. Reminds me of the fact, however, that if the DSS had arrested the founder of Boko Haram and other preachers for inciting their followers in the early days, probably terrorism would not have been what it is in Nigeria today.

Selah!
