Bindow Congratulates Ondo Governor-Elect

Adamawa state governor, Senator Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow, has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu, on his election as Ondo state governor-elect.

Governor Bindow, in a statement signed by his S A press and media affairs, Mr Martins Dickson, congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerians, the APC and the people of Ondo State for the result of the election.

“I would like to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, every Nigerian, our party APC, Akeredolu himself and the good people of Ondo state for a thorough and successful electoral exercise.’’

Bindow also commended the electorate for maintaing peace and order during the election, while calling on the opposing candidates and their parties to accept the result in good faith as it is only God that giveth and taketh power.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Akeredolu as winner in the Ondo State Nov. 26 governorship election with a total of 244,842 votes, ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, who polled 150,380 votes.

The Alliance for Democracy got 126, 889 votes while the Social Democratic Party got 10, 147 votes.
